Here is a picture of Sam on August 29, 2007. He got his first Ponsetti cast to begin correction of his Club Foot. Look how small he is... This picture still breaks my heart. (and makes me tired...after each new cast, we were up 24 hours straight...Tylenol every 4 hours for pain and non stop crying...Sam b/c he was in pain and Tim b/c he was sympathizing. My poor angels.)
Here he is at almost two years of age on June 19, 2009 with his care team. These are the people that made his recovery possible. Without these three people, he wouldn't be walking so perfectly today! Thank you all...you are amazing!This is Melinda. She one of Dr. Richards nurses and has cared for Sam since his first day of treatment on August 29th of 2007.
This is Tony from Physical Therapy. He is the only therapist that has cared for Sam for the entire 2 years. Other have come and gone but Tony has been our ROCK! This is Sam in the therapy chair while Tony custom molds a new brace for Sam's foot. Sam wears this brace every night to bed. Once he was done with casting, he wore this brace all the time. He then graduated to nights and naps and finally to just night time. On his 2nd birthday he no longer has to wear this and it is such a part of our routine that we aren't sure what he will do when he doesn't have to wear it! Most mornings he doesn't want us to take it off! He has never known life without it.
And last but NOT least...This is Dr. Richards during Sam's examination. Dr. Richards is an amazing Doctor and will continue to make progress in this field! We are blessed to know him and have him as Sam's doctor.

Sam's foot is at and maintaining PERFECT CORRECTION!!!!
Sam has been released from the physical therapy program and his next check up is not for another full YEAR!!!!!!!!
When we started Sam's Club Foot was rated a 15 out of a possible 20...he had a severe case of Club Foot. We were going multiple times a week to Scottish Rite and over time that stretched to every 3 months to see Dr. Richards and every 6 weeks for Physical Therapy.
As of June 19, 2009, Sam is at a 0 (perfect!) and we go back in one year for a follow up. Praise be to our God!

Michelle, I am sitting here in tears at this post. I remember when you found out that Sam's foot was clubbed in utero and how we all worried for you and consoled you. I am over the moon happy for all of you that it is corrected. Amazing!
Aw! This is so sweet! I am so proud of you guys for sticking with it all. This is definitely a milestone! See ya in about a year. Tell the boys I said hello.
